A new construction coop using some repurposed materials and some new materials. This was designed for about 20 hens with the idea that all regular chores could be performed from outside the coop itself -- feeding, watering, egg collection, and even wireless lighting controls.
Using a pulley system, a repurposed window is lifted to access the feeders. An exterior cabinet accesses the automatic watering and electrical controls. A second pulley system controls our custom-made chicken doors, exclusively built for Campbell's coops.
The laying boxes are also accessed from the outside. This coop is built on a cinderblock and buried wire foundation (24" deep) to keep away raccoons and any other burrowing animals. And the run is completed with overhead wire to keep away winged predators like eagles.
